Author Mark Hart grew up on a farm near Colfax and his book of poems Boy Singing to Cattle, has just been released. It features his father, farming, and the Palouse. The book won the 23rd annual Pearl Poetry Prize for 2011 and can be requested from Whitman County Library or purchased at Tick Klock Drugs or Main Street Books. Hart will speak at the library this summer.
