Reading just got more lucrative for Whitman County adults thanks to a donation from the Coeur d‘Alene Casino and Resort. Now all adult finishers in the library’s Summer Reading program will be included in a grand prize drawing for a gift basket from the Resort that includes an overnight stay and 2 tickets to the buffet. Adult finishers also have a chance at a second prize of a $50 Rosauers gift card courtesy of the Friends of Whitman County Library.

To enter, adults just need to read and briefly review 3 books by August 31. Besides the countywide grand prize drawings, finishers will receive a variety of prizes from local business sponsors. Entry forms are available at all 14 branch locations or online from the library’s website www.whitco.lib.wa.us.

Teens Summer Reading also continues through the end of August, with grand prize being an HD flip video camera. Webb’s Slough donated Sprint Boat Race youth tickets to each branch for teen drawing prizes. Three short book reviews submitted online or in person is all that’s needed for entry. Additional prizes and drawings for teens vary by branch location.

While children’s Summer Reading has officially ended for the summer, librarians are happy to accept late finishers and reward young readers with a prize. For more information about Summer Reading programs, contact Whitman County Library at 509-397-4366.
