Colfax Crazy 8s Math Club with Chief Thime

The Colfax Library’s Math Club participated in firefighter training during the Wednesday gathering of Crazy 8s. Fire Chief, Steven Thime brought gear from the Colfax Department to share with the 3-5 grade students. Chief Thime demonstrated the importance of math skills as the students calculated weights and measures pertaining to fire safety.

The goal of Crazy 8s is to show that math is fun and recreational in order to change our culture and get kids to think of math as play. It’s a collection of novel, high-octane math activities that appeal to a wide range of kids.
