Susan Russell presents along with art exhibit from the class of 1963

Join Susan Russell, acclaimed artist and educator at the kickoff program for Meet the Artist on Thursday, September 12 at 7 p.m. in the Colfax Library. Russell’s presentation, called ABCDelirious teaches how the symbols of ancient marks became contemporary letterforms that comprise our 26-letter alphabet. Russell works in many art mediums, with this presentation featuring lettering art, oil, pastels, pen and ink.

Russell teaches art to both adults and children, so her presentation will include an activity geared toward those 11 and older. She hopes that parents might bring their children along to learn and participate.

Russell resides in Portland and is also an alumnus of the Colfax High class of 1963. She will attend her 50 year reunion during her stay in Colfax. As part of the reunion activities, Russell has invited several artists from her class to display their work at the library as well, including Tina Ochs who now resides in Palouse and Larry Curtis who now lives in Idaho. The exhibit will run September 9-14 and is free and open to the public.
