You can see videos of the forums on the LWV website.

To assist local voters, a ballot issues debate was held on Tuesday, October 15 at the Colfax Branch of Whitman County Library. This forum was sponsored by the Pullman League of Women Voters, The Whitman County Gazette and Whitman County Library.

During this forum, Initiatives 522 and 517 were debated with panel members taking questions from the audience. Initiative 522 concerns the labeling of genetically-engineered foods. Initiative 517 establishes protections for citizens who participate in the initiative and referendum process. Information on the Advisory votes for increasing taxes were also available at the forum.
An additional forum was held on October 16 in Pullman. The Pullman forum featured the city council candidates in the three contested races but all candidates were present to answer questions from the audience.
If you were unable to attend either of these forums, the forums were videotaped and can be accessed through the LWV website, www.lwvpullman.org.
For questions about the forum, please contact Karen Kiessling, from the League of Women Voters at 509-332-4755 or Kristie Kirkpatrick, Library Director at 509-397-4366.
