Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Whitman County Library!
We'll be closed Nov 28-29 but looking forward to serving you again on Saturday
from our Albion, Colfax and Rosalia locations.

Do you have a
child longing to get out of the house for an educational, romping good time?
Join us for Play & Learn playgroup at two Whitman County Library locations:
the Colfax Library every Friday morning from 10:00-11:30 a.m. and the Lacrosse
Library every Tuesday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. These
friends, family and neighbors (FFN) programs are sponsored by the Department of
Early Learning distributed through Child Care Aware of Eastern Washington.
You can save the lives of three
people by donating blood Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 2:15-5:30 pm at the Colfax
Library and you will be entered in a drawing to win a $500 Visa
gift card! Appointments are being taken by contacting the library at
509-397-4366 or the Inland Northwest Blood Center at www.inbcsaves.org.
According to the Inland Northwest Blood Center, here are a few facts about donations:
1. Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood product.
2. Although 60% of Americans are eligible to donate blood, only approximately 5% actually do.
3. It is estimated that one in three individuals will need a blood product sometime during their life.
Walk-ins will be seen on a first come, first serve basis with photo I.D. required. Donors should drink plenty of fluids and eat a meal at least two hours prior to arrival. The entire list of eligibility criteria can be found by contacting the Inland Northwest Blood Center at www.inbc2.org or by calling toll-free 800-423-0151.
