WCL Calendar Sampling August 7-14


Thursday, August 7
Rosalia – 11 a.m. – Summer Writing Series with Children’s Author Marcy Campbell –Learn how to use words, colors and emotions to convey action and plot elements. Children grades 4 and up are invited to this free event. All materials are provided by the Friends of the Rosalia Library.

Friday, August 8
All fourteen branches of Whitman County Library will be closed for Annual Maintenance Week. Many online services will still be available through the library’s website.
Saturday, August 9
All branches will be closed for Annual Maintenance Week.

Sunday, August 10
Summer Reading participants through age 12 can exchange their completed Summer Reading log for a prize at any of the library’s 14 branch locations. Teen and Adult Summer Reading continues through the end of August. Completion forms can be accessed from the library’s website or by stopping in at any branch of WCL.

Monday, August 11
Colfax – 10 a.m. – Fit & Fun with Nancy Stanard – Low impact aerobic workouts. Cost is $5 per class. For more information, contact Nancy at (509) 288-1117.
St. John – 1 p.m. – Family Book Club & Movie – Come by the library as we discuss E.B. White’s, “Charlotte’s Web”, and as a special treat, we will view the movie as well!
Schmuck Park in Colfax – 6 p.m. – Fitness Boot Camp with Carissa Little – For more information or to register, contact Carissa at purefitpersonaltraining@gmail.com

Tuesday, August 12
Colfax – The Whitman Samplers are raffling a quilt to raise money for great causes. The quilt is on display at the library and tickets are just $1.

Wednesday, August 13

Garfield – 6 p.m. – Family Night – Free fun and activities for the entire family. Contact Branch Manager, Sarah at (509) 635-1490 for more information.

Thursday, August 14

St. John – 2 to 4 p.m. – Tween Party – Kids ages 11 to 16 are invited to the library to check out our new Wii U. We’ll have domino creations and crafts to keep you busy between games.
