Join us Weds and/or Thurs for a rare opportunity!

Whitman County Library announces a 13-week series of speakers, classes and individualized instruction called “Technology Made Easy.” The series opens on Wednesday, February 18 at 3 p.m. in the Colfax Library with digital media pioneer and business leader Alex Alben. In this highly interactive presentation called, “Privacy and Personality in the Digital Age,” Alben addresses concepts of personal privacy, digital tracking, the concept of  “celebrity” and what we are each willing to give up to preserve privacy in the online environment.  

Alben has played a leadership role in the field of digital media and has shared his expertise in both teaching and journalism. He helped launch ESPN.com and ABCNews.com, and served for six years in senior management at RealNetworks. Besides the Colfax Library program on February 18 at 3 p.m., you can see Alben that same day at 6 p.m. in the Albion Library or the following day, February 19 at 12 p.m. in the St. John Library or 6 p.m. at the Tekoa Library.
Technology Made Easy classes are provided by grant funding to the Washington State Library by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  “Technology Made Easy” is designed provide informative workshops and individual technology help at our 14 locations throughout Whitman County. A large variety of workshops are scheduled every week from February 18 to May 10, with subjects from building your business presence online to editing digital pictures.
