Wednesday, Jun. 7, 9:30- 11 a.m. at the Colfax Library

Washington State will launch its Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) program this summer. Learn more about the program with Christina Gagnon, from the Washington State Department of Commerce, on Wednesday, June 7 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the Colfax Library's meeting room. ABLE accounts allow people with disabilities* and their families to save for future expenses without losing their state and federal benefits. *Broad definition of disabilities (physical, developmental, mental, military-induced, etc.)

The Stephen Beck Jr., Achieving a Better Life Experience Act of 2014 (ABLE Act) established the creation of ABLE accounts for people with disabilities. The Washington ABLE Program provides tax-advantaged savings accounts for individuals and their families to save for qualified disability expenses without losing federal and state benefits.
