Blood Drive-Colfax Library Location-July 21

Colfax Library Hosts INBC Blood Drive-July 21, 1:30-5:30 p.m.
The gift of blood is the gift of life. You can save the lives of three people by donating blood Thursday, July 21 at the Colfax Library from 1:30-5:30  p.m. Appointments are being taken by contacting the library at 509-397-4366 or the Inland Northwest Blood Center at www.inbcsaves.org.
According to the Inland Northwest Blood Center, here are a few facts about donations:
1. Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood product.
2. Although 60% of Americans are eligible to donate blood, only approximately 5% actually do.
3. It is estimated that one in three individuals will need a blood product sometime during their life.
Walk-ins will be seen on a first come, first serve basis with photo I.D. required. Donors should drink plenty of fluids and eat a meal at least two hours prior to arrival. The entire list of eligibility criteria can be found by calling the Inland Northwest Blood Center toll-free 800-423-0151.
Everyone can now do their health history question ahead of time! This will save a ton of time in the registration process! Donors can still come in as usual without completing the questions, this just helps speed up the process for those in a hurry. Here are all of the specifics:
1. The donor must wait to complete the questionnaire until the day of blood drive
2. Log on to www.inbcsaves.org and click on the complete health history icon
3. If you do the questions on the computer you will need to print out a barcode, if you do the questions on your phone simply keep the bar code up on the screen and we can scan it from there
4. You MUST put your legal name when filling it out. Example if I put Nikki rather than Nicole when I got to the blood drive I would have to do the entire thing over again.
