Whitman County Seed Library

WCL's Seed Library is Open for Gardening Season!

Come learn about the seed library at our open house on Tuesday April 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Spring is here so it's time to plant your garden. The Colfax Library invites you to visit our Seed Library anytime the library is open or to stop by an open house introduction to the Seed Library tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18!

The Concept of the Seed Library is simple. Residents borrow seeds from the library, plant their gardens, harvest their crops and then return some of the harvested seeds to The Seed Library for use the following growing season. The Seed Library welcomes and shares a variety of seeds that are organic certified, open pollinated, or heirloom seeds. This ensures that our library is doing its best to provide seed that is high quality and can produce a plant true to its variety.

Check out our extensive collection of gardening books from roses to rutabagas!
