Three new inspirational non fiction books, check them out today!

Rural Alliance High School Art-Jan. 9-15

 Rural Alliance High School Art Show


The Rural Alliance High School Art Show returns to the Colfax Library, January 9-15, during open hours. This exhibit features over a hundred creative works of local high school students.  Students participating in the show represent schools in Tekoa, Rosalia, Garfield/Palouse, Oakesdale, and St. John/Endicott.

The community is invited to attend the exhibit and an Art Show Reception to help celebrate the teens and their accomplishments.  During the Art Show Reception on Monday, January 11 from 5-7p.m., view art while enjoying refreshments and live music.  Featured student artists will speak briefly during reception about themselves, their artwork, inspirations, and aspirations.

This full time position coordinates public services, community relations and marketing efforts for the 14 branch system.
Starting salary is $31,000-$41,000 depending upon education and experience. Benefits include full medical insurance, retirement and annual leave.

Work closely with staff, the public, local groups and agencies. Develop marketing plans and implement procedures through traditional, electronic and social media and community events. Provide program oversight, coordination and development through the library’s budget, expanded partnerships, and grants. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail, fiscal responsibility, strong computing and technology and excellent customer service skills.

Third Thursday Holiday Fun

It may be chilly outside, but the Colfax Library offers warm, friendly fun on December 17.  Youth in grades 1-4 are invited to “Holiday Fun” at the Colfax Library on Thursday, December 17 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Come join in the seasonal stories, yummy snacks, energetic games and wild laughter with friends located in the Norma McGregor Community Room of the Whitman County Library.
Every Third Thursday during the school year kids may ride bus #16 with a parent permission note, walk or ride to the Colfax Library. No need to sign up or pre-register for this free, monthly after school event. This program is open to all students and home school kids in grades 1-4.

We have new National Geographic DVD's and more!

This ten disk collectors set was generously donated to the library so that everyone could enjoy these non-fiction DVD’s of the most groundbreaking natural history series ever created!

The Nature Collection by National Geographic

Also, generously donated to the library this six disk set of non-fiction DVD’s is a collection of television programs about asteroids, dinosaurs, Mt. Everest, Tigers, crocodiles and volcanos…oh my! 


Also, generously donated to the library these ten non-fiction DVD’s capture animal behavior in real life and death sequences with fascinating footage in the sea, on land and in the air.
