This book tells the unbelievable story of a 15 year-old-girl who developed a case of the hiccups that lasted for months making her a media star.  The hiccups soon went away and so did the fame.  In here desire to reclaim the attention she went from media darling to convicted killer.

Interesting Books from the Whitman County Library

Thank you to Mark Bordsen for donating the book called The Fortunate Few: IVS Volunteers from Asia to the Andes.  

IVS (International Volunteer Services) worked to improve lives around the world and lead to the creation of the Peace Corps. This book features the compelling stories of those volunteers including Bordsen who worked in Laos and Indonesia.

Request your copy of Ripples of a Lie donated by author Esther Barnett Goffinet.

She donated this biography of her father’s experiences as one of the victims of the Centralia / Wobbly conflict of 1919.

Colfax – 5 p.m. – Celebrating our Veterans, Decoration Day started in 1868 to honor Civil War veterans.  Within 20 years the name was changed to Memorial Day to commemorate all American veterans, and their families, for their selfless service to our country on Thursday, May 26 on the main floor of the Colfax Library.

Albion – 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – Fireside Chats, and Knit Night at the library.

Garfield – 6 p.m. – Adult Coloring – Join us the last Friday of each month for some fun filled coloring!  Bring your own coloring book or try something new out of the coloring pages provided.  For more information, contact Sarah at (509) 635-1490.

Rosalia – 7 to 9 p.m. – Teen Movie Night – Bring your own seating and a snack to share or just come and enjoy a fun evening with other teens. The movie is selected by a vote of the attendees.

Join with us as we honor our Whitman County Veterans, and their families, for their selfless service to our country on Thursday, May 26 at 5 p.m. on the main floor of the Colfax Library.
