Over 130 years ago this month, in June 1885 the Statue of Liberty Arrives in New York City from France
On June 17, 1885, the Statue of Liberty arrived in New York City – a gift
from France as an expression of friendship, mutual desire for freedom, and to
honor the late President Lincoln for his abolishment of slavery.
