WCL Closed May 13-Training Workshop

Upcoming Library Closures

All 14 branches of Whitman County Library will close Friday, May 13 for an all-staff training workshop and May 28-30 for Memorial Day. Due dates for library materials have been extended in anticipation of the closure and no late fines will be charged for these days.                          Bookdrops will remain open in all locations accepting returned items. Access to the library’s catalog, downloadable audio and e-books, subscription databases, and the online librarian will still be available by visiting Whitman County Library website. For more information about library closures or upcoming community programs, the library's events calendar is also accessible from the library website. Residents may call the library at 397-4366 or toll-free at 1-877-733-3375 for information, details regarding the closure or renewal of materials.

Garfield – 6 p.m. – Adult Coloring Night – Enjoy an evening of relaxation with friends and coloring.

Rosalia – 7 to 8:30 p.m. – Family Game Night – Spend time together with other families while gaming. Bring your favorite game to share and join in the fun. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Colfax – 3:30 p.m. – Caregiver Coffee Group – Free caregiver support group every 1st and 3rd Monday.

Colfax – 2 to 4 p.m. – Coffee, Cookies & Coloring – Free adult coloring every 1st and 3rd Tuesday.

Albion, Garfield & Oakesdale – Early Learning Storytime – Bring in the little ones for fun stories, songs and more.

Endicott & LaCrosse – Afterschool Program – Kids in grades K-5th are invited to enjoy a fun activity at the library. Check the online calendar for times and themes.

Malden – 2 p.m. – Needle Nuts – Work on your knitting or other needle work while relaxing and visiting with others.

Albion – 4 p.m. – Afterschool Art – Create a hot air balloon window decoration out of colored paper.

Uniontown – 4 p.m. – Kids Drama Club – Explore all the facets of drama and theater with improve, games, stage lingo and of course FUN.

In celebration of April's Rare Books week, Whitman County Library would like to recognize Colfax's own Tim Ely who fabricates manuscript books from philosophy, science and "imaginal" magic. His beautiful creations can be found in museums, libraries and special collections worldwide - including Flight Into Egypt, right here at WCL.
