Yoga for a good cause
Two local Yoga instructors are volunteering their services to benefit important local causes and organizations within the community. On the first Tuesday of each month, Suzy McNeilly and Crystn Guenthner are providing a Yoga class from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Colfax Library that will be by donation only with all proceeds going to area groups and causes.
The first class set for Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 5:30 is ideal for both beginners and those quite familiar with Yoga. It will begin with a Vinyasa flow and take a quick break at 6:30 to move into the Restorative phase so participants can stay for the entire class or use the break to come and go.
This month, the library’s Senior Pie and Bingo will be the recipient of the class donations. Bingo is provided the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. in the Colfax Branch. With as many as 40 seniors attending, proceeds will help purchase pie and other supplies for the popular sessions.

Informative non-fiction titles for September
This is the remarkably
true story of a group of Montana farmers who in the 1970’s defied corporate
agribusiness by refusing to plant GMO’s.
Their company “Timeless Natural Foods” is now a million-dollar organic
business.
This shocking story of
how the venture to genetically engineer our food has subverted science,
corrupted government and deceived the public while recklessly subjecting our
health and our environment to unacceptable risks.
This user friendly book
explores the cutting edge aspects of genetic science and the impact of DNA
technology on medicine and society at large.
