May 9 - Overdrive Easy Access 2 - 4 p.m. If you want to access thousands of eBooks and audiobooks with just your phone, tablet, or laptop then you should try the library's app, OverDrive! Need help installing OverDrive on your device? Learning how to download an eBook or audiobook? Have general questions about OverDrive? Drop into the TEK Center Tuesday, May 9 from 2-4 to get all your questions answered!
May 16 - Cybersecurity Essentials 12 - 1:30 p.m. In today’s increasingly networked world, how can we keep ourselves and our information safe and secure? On Tuesday, May 16, Mike J. McCully answers those concerns in a presentation titled “Cybersecurity Essentials for Work and Home” from noon – 1 p.m. at the TEK Center at Colfax Library.
During the presentation, McCully will provide practical advice that everyone should know including identity theft and phishing defenses, preventing Malware, common Web attacks, safely browsing the Internet, making secure purchases, recognizing an exploited computer, securing social media, hacking yourself first and more.
McCully is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CIP) and Information Systems Security Officer at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA.)
May 23 - Drop-in Tech Help 2 - 4 p.m. Need tech help? It's Drop-in Tech Tuesday! Drop-into the TEK Center to get hands on help with Microsoft Imagine Academy, basic computer skills, internet, email and more! Bring your device and your questions to our tech librarian Tuesday, May 23 2-4 p.m.
If cannot make this date, do not worry as WCL is providing Drop-in Tech Help EVERY SATURDAY from 2 - 4 p.m. with our WSU volunteer, Tara.
