On
the evening of Dec. 1, 2015 (7-9 p.m.), author Bryan Stevenson
will deliver WSU's ninth Common Reading Invited Lecture in Beasley
Coliseum. His book, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption,
is the 2015-16 Common Reading book that will be used in classes,
residence hall programming, and events for thousands of first-year and other
students in Pullman throughout the year.
Described
by Desmond Tutu as “America’s young Nelson Mandela,” attorney and social
justice advocate Bryan Stevenson authored Just Mercy as a call for
compassion in the pursuit of justice.
Stevenson’s
invited lecture is free and open to the public, with a book signing following
his presentation. For more information, go to CommonReading.wsu.edu.
